After repeated flooding in the area, I was pleased to be able to pull together all the agencies and those involved in flooding across our area for a private meeting in Witherley on how to tackle flooding in both the short- and long-term.
Representatives from the Parish Council, Leicestershire County Council, Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council, the Environment Agency, Leicestershire Police and a local residents group were all at the meeting.
It was a good discussion and everyone went away with points to work on, I’ll continue to raise it down in Westminster and will provide more updates as and when I have them.
You can see my recent question to the Secretary of State for the Environment and Rural Affairs, where I raised concerns about the impact of flooding on communities across Hinckley and Bosworth, here: Hinckley and Bosworth MP calls for more flooding support for smaller villages | Dr Luke Evans MP
