Dr Luke Evans, MP for Hinckley and Bosworth, and The Futures Trust are delighted to announce that Hinckley Academy and John Cleveland Sixth Form College became part The Futures Trust on 1st December.
The Futures Trust is a successful, values based multi academy trust that has a strong track record of building good and outstanding schools in Coventry. After recent inspection of one of the trust’s secondary schools Ofsted wrote, “Leaders, governors and ‘the Futures Trust’ are unwavering in their drive for excellence. They know the school’s strengths and weaknesses and work collaboratively to address any underperformance.”
The Futures Trust is committed to building brighter futures for all its students and the communities it serves and is looking forward to making a real difference in Hinckley.
The academy’s move to The Futures Trust has been brokered with substantial additional Department of Education capital funding to support remodelling and improvements of the site at Hinckley Academy. In addition to these improvements, the trust has also secured a DfE commitment to the provision of a brand-new classroom block providing 3220m² of state of the art teaching space.
Peter Thomas, CEO of The Futures Trust commented, “I am delighted that Hinckley Academy and John Cleveland Sixth Form College is joining our family of schools. My own children attended the school, and I am very familiar with the local community together with its needs and expectations.”
As a National Leader of Education (NLE) Mr Thomas brings many years’ experience raising standards in education, improving the quality of teaching, and learning and school governance in numerous schools up and down the country. He is also a former Ofsted inspector with a deep understanding of the inspection framework and how school performance is evaluated.
Dr Luke Evans, Member of Parliament for Bosworth, added “This is a huge step for the future of Hinckley Academy, and more importantly for the generations of children who will benefit from both the leadership of The Futures Trust, but also from the significant investment that is being made in the fabric of the school which will see state of the art facilities being built.
“This is wonderful news for Hinckley residents, I’m delighted to have played a role in bringing this day to reality and can’t wait to see how the school develops under the guidance of the The Futures Trust in the coming years.”
The Futures Trust is committed to three clear values:
- Students’ First: teachers and leaders are wholly focused on the educational benefit of our students.
- It’s About Learning: students, teachers and leaders are focused on developing and improving learning and development
- No Barrier’s: no excuses, only support to ensure that students maximise their progress
The trust is passionate about seeking to raise the horizons and ambitions of students attending Hinckley Academy and John Cleveland Sixth Form College in order that they achieve the best possible chance in life. The trust is committed to making a difference to their lives, and in the most profound sense, through their own ability to make a difference to themselves and others.
The Futures Trust achieves this by ensuring that their schools employ the very best staff, supported by the excellent professional development they offer, which ensures that teaching and learning is of the highest quality. The trust invests in teaching facilities that support learning inside and outside the classroom. Student success is encouraged and celebrated, and everything is done to ensure that students are moulded into well rounded and purposeful individuals.
The Futures Trust’s team of education experts have been working with the academy for some time to fully appreciate the school’s unique qualities and needs. As time progresses, the trust will continue to provide updates on a range of exciting developments that are already in the pipeline.
