Local Liberal Democrats - the same group who currently hold control of Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council, which is responsible for housing and planning in our area - have blamed the Government's 2019 manifesto pledge of building 300,000 homes on planning issues locally despite making the same promise in their own manifesto.
At their Party Conference last year, the Lib Dems doubled down on their commitment to building new homes and passed a motion stating it is now their belief that the country needs to build 380,000 new homes per year.
