This week I was able to ask the Department for Work and Pensions what it is doing to support older jobseekers looking to re-skill or change careers, and I was pleased to hear in response that the Government is very much aware of the issue, and is keen to support older people in the workplace.
I was also able to ask what the Government is doing to support areas like ours as industries adapt and evolve, to ensure that the workforce has the skills it needs to meet the future demands of the labour market.
