Dr Luke Evans, Member of Parliament for Bosworth, has commended staff and volunteers at Green Towers for their work supporting local young people.
The local MP visited Green Towers Hinckley Club for Young People on July 24th and spoke to the team about the services and support on offer to young people in the area.
Green Towers, supported by a team of staff and volunteers, operates as a not-for-profit charity facilitating community projects, businesses, sports and recreational activities during the day and evening.
Local young people aged eight to 18 are invited to become members, for the annual price of £10, or pay on a day-by-day basis (£1.50) for the youth clubs which run 6pm until 9pm Monday to Friday.
Activities on offer at Green Towers, based on Richmond Road in Hinckley, include rock climbing, fencing, kickboxing and roller skating as well as the ability to use the outdoor BMX and skate park, all equipment provided.
Children and their families can get food, drinks and play a game of pool at the on-site Jackies Bar.
The function room upstairs, and gym halls are available for hire, for everything from weddings and christenings to business conferences, and has previously been used by Leicestershire County Council.
Dr Luke Evans, Member of Parliament for Bosworth, said “It was a pleasure to visit Green Towers, to meet the team and hear about the wonderful work that the Club does to support young people and give them a place to have fun and make new friends.
“With almost 2,000 members it’s fantastic that our community has such a welcoming space right in the heart of Hinckley.
“I would urge anyone – no matter your age – to see what’s on offer at Green Towers if you’re looking for something new and fun to do!”
