Dr Luke Evans, MP for Bosworth, has met the team at the Friezeland Christmas Tree Farm in Market Bosworth, after they won a competition to provide the Christmas wreath on the front door of No. 10 Downing Street.
On 1 December, Prime Minister Boris Johnson turned on the Christmas lights in Downing Street, and the stunning wreath provided by Friezeland proudly represented Bosworth. Later that evening, Dr Luke met some of the Friezeland team at Downing Street, to congratulate them on their success.
Dr Luke also visited the team at Friezeland on the 4 December, to congratulate them on their winning wreath, and to celebrate Small Business Saturday. The team explained how the wreaths are made, discussed why it is important to shop locally, and showed Dr Luke a similar wreath to the competition winner.
Friezeland offer customers the opportunity to hand-pick locally grown Christmas trees, and sell four different varieties.
Dr Luke said: “A huge congratulations to the team at Friezeland on their success, it was a pleasure to meet them at Downing Street, and at their brilliant Christmas tree farm in Market Bosworth. It’s fantastic that our area is being represented on one of the most famous front doors in the world!
I know that the Prime Minister himself was particularly impressed by the entry submitted by Friezeland! A huge thanks to them for having me down on Small Business Saturday!”
