I wrote to the Secretary of State for Transport Rt Hon Grant Shapps MP to highlight constituents' concerns about the Hinckley National Rail Freight Interchange and ask for a meeting to discuss the project.
You can see the response I received from the Department for Transport below. While I am disappointed we cannot meet to discuss the proposal and the Interchange's potential impact to the constituency, I fully appreciate that the Secretary of State has to follow the rules.
I have therefore written back to him to ask the best way I can continue to make sure the views of local people are heard and taken into account on this important issue.
