Since 2010 over 11,000 apprenticeships have been created in our area, helping to upskill local people into highly paid jobs.
That said, employers in our area regularly raise concerns with me over the red tape in the Apprenticeship Levy, so I have been calling for this red tape to be cut and was pleased to raise this with the Chancellor, Jeremy Hunt, today.
