This afternoon I voted to repeal the Labour Government’s decision to restrict Winter Fuel Payments for thousands of pensioners across Hinckley and Bosworth.
Unfortunately, the Government’s numbers far outweighed those of us who voted against this policy (including only one Labour MP).
Sadly, it looks as though the decision to remove Winter Fuel Payments from around 10 million pensioners across the UK will go ahead.
I will continue to do all I can to oppose the new Government’s decision to bring about these changes, and continue to urge people across our community to check their eligibility for Pension Credit.
