Dr Luke Evans, the Member of Parliament for Bosworth, has met with the Prime Minister’s Housing and Local Government advisor to put the case forward for sustainable development in the Borough of Hinckley and Bosworth.
During a zoom conversation last week Dr Luke raised the importance of localism, including neighbourhood plans, as well as pushing for projected housing numbers to be lowered in order to ensure any future development is supported by appropriate roads, schools and GP places.
Dr Luke said “It’s vital that if the Government is looking to reinvigorate our planning regime, they take areas like Hinckley and Bosworth on the journey along with them. Community engagement is the key.
“The Government have undertaken a wide-ranging planning consultation which will affect our lives for decades to come. The people of Bosworth and I expect to see a focus on sustainable growth and quality infrastructure, and I have consulted widely across our area, and fed ideas and concerns into Government raised by all involved.
“I know local people won’t accept anything less and I will continue to push for assurances that these matters will be considered at the very highest level.”
